Class at GRIET

On Friday morning, I visited GRIET and delivered a class to Post-Graduate students in Computer Applications. This is a two hour class that started late and ended late. About 40 students attended the class and even though the class started late, they stayed back patiently. Thank you folks!

I covered the following topics during the class

  • Network programming, Client Server concepts, Connection Oriented and Connection-less services, related UNIX system calls.
  • Inter Process communication, Message Queues, Named Pipes, Semaphores, Shared Memory.

My laptop’s OpenSolaris installation was still flaky and incomplete by that time, so I couldn’t demonstrate these concepts during the class. May be some other day.

The materials will be posted tomorrow.
